Why is my balance $0

Posted: Oct 04 2009 05:50 PM

Dear Sir or Madam,

I previously had a balance in my account somewhere in the $45 to $50 range. When I tried to use the service today, it showed my balance as $0. How do I get this remedied?

Sincerely,

Kelly Feeney

Hello,

If you haven't been to the service in a while we had posted several announcements and sent some e-mail about bidslammer 2.0 and the pricing changes.

1) We don't charge for misses anymore.

2) We don't expire free portions of dollars. The old methods caused a lot of confusion as the free portions were mixed with real money.

3) We had expirations of free bucks in the user agreement - but we as a courtesy we grandfathered in Nov 2007 and later.

What you see in your balance is true US dollars and it doesn't expire, ever, and neither will any other free dollars (since we don't do double bucks anymore). The new model is based on getting less money up front and giving away more service like the free search tool.

Thanks and let us know if we can help further.

Kind regards,

John D.

Dear Mr. Duncan,

Thank you for your quick response. I am still confused as to why my balance is $0. While I had taken advantage of an offer to get double bucks, I know that almost half of my balance of approximately $45-50 was paid for by me and was not a promotion. I have been such a proponent of your service and I have introduced many people to it despite two missed snipes. I am asking you to please take another look at my account and restore the balance. I realize that I have not been bidding on Ebay lately, but I was dealing with the terminal illness and death of my father. I never imagined that I would be punished by your company for this.

Sincerely,

Kelly Feeney

Hello,

We certainly are not trying to punish you and we appreciate your business over the years. Per the terms of our old user agreement, which we retired last year, free bucks expire after two years. We didn't enforce that policy until late last year so many people were able to use the service for free much longer than the stated two years.

Your current balance is a result of the free bucks you earned expiring. Under our new agreement and pricing plan free dollars never expire. We also no longer charge for misses (no more dimes). We posted several announcements prior to making any changes, but you may not have seen them as you haven't used the service in a long time.

Kind regards,

John D.

Dear Mr. Duncan,

I understand that you are not willing to credit the free bucks, but I believe that balance was from purchasing $25 with $25 free bucks. As I recall, I had used less than $5 of the amount, thus the balance was $45-$50. I am simply asking for a credit of the amount that I actually paid.

Sincerely,

Kelly Feeney

Hello,

I looked in the account and I didn't see any illegal activity that would have depleted your balance. I will log into PayPal and see when your last payment was.

Cheers,

Jay
