Can you help me understand why I lost the snipe bid. I read the umpteen reasons in the documentation and I don't think they apply. I've successfully bought many items with BidSlammer with no issues......this is the first loss. The item sold for $1776, my bid was $1976, well above the winning bid.

Thank you for your question about this item. eBay returned the following error:
"eBay Trust & Safety Error Filter Id: To ensure eBay remains a safe marketplace, we want to validate your identity before you purchase this item. Thank you for your understanding. Please follow the directions below to continue:"
It goes on to say to go to "My eBay" and go through the steps to verify your identify via an automated call.
Presumably this is a newer account or you haven't yet bid on higher-priced items yet. Unfortunately we can't detect this error before it occurs.
We hope we have resolved this to your satisfaction. Please advise if we can help with anything else.

It is a very old account with many high-dollar purchases. I did see a similar message when I purchased a similar watch from Europe this morning. I suspect you're right, it may be a new security protocol for high $$ purchases out of the USA. I was easily able to complete the purchase this morning.

Yes, that it probably what triggered it. Our system hasn't been programmed to catch that error yet. :-)
