According to BidSlammer I won this item; my BidSlammer bid was higher than the final bid. But on eBay, there is no bid shown for me. What happened?

I don't believe that was the problem. I have won subsequent auctions without making any updates to my account.

According to the logs, it was a Captcha page. Those are very infrequent and if your password is strong, those only occur if you bid on multiple items in a short time frame. As you indicated, you should be ok for future snipes.
