Why Did I Receive a "TUV Error?" (Token User Verification)

When you get "TUV Error" or any error related to authorization, it specifically means that your authorization (via a "token" string) being used is invalid, expired, or has been revoked by either your or eBay.

NOTE: We can't know the reasons why an authorization is revoked. eBay doesn't disclose information to third parties that are considered to be privacy-related.

This error commonly happens when:

  1. The user changes their eBay password, which automatically invalidates existing tokens.
  2. The authorization expires (tokens typically have a set lifespan).
  3. The user manually revokes access through eBay's security settings.
  4. eBay's security systems revoke the token for some reason.

The solution is for you to re-authorize in your Preferences at our site; it is the link on the left side of your Dashboard.

NOTE: To try to get around this issue, we check the authorization every eight hours during the two days preceding a snipe.

If you experience repeated problems with authenticating, check your My eBay Third-Party Access tab and check the date of the authorization to see if access was granted correctly.
